Default New Continent for GW2?

I was playing with Mhenlo today and he said this line:

"I thought Ascalon was the world, but then I found Kryta. I walked through the mountains and found Elona waiting for me. I wonder what lies across the waves?"

Got me thinking...

Well it wouldnt be Factions seeing how Mhenlo is Canthan, I'm pretty sure he's aware of Factions. He's the one that gives you the quest to get to Cantha from Tyria.

But I love how people are creating the mythos of GW, from finding dragons that aren't there to cyptic sayings of the NCPs. It makes it all that much more interesting.

Mhenlo isnt canthan... he's the only non canthan to ever study at Shing Jea. The quote is probably referring to how this occured

He's the last Non-Canthan to stufy at Shing Jea Monestary. Not the only.

I think Mhenlo means "besides Cantha, what is out there? What is North of Tyria? East? West?" etc. Basically, Mhenlo is saying how he now realizes how small and insignificant he is compared to the world. Not necessarily that it's a hint to a new continent. Although it could be.

And it is not a reference to Cantha.

Well, there's a lot in the map that is not accessible just to provide probably a means of new content, new areas. But with GW2 those plans where abandoned.

There is also the fact that we don't know the size of the planet. For all we know it could be the size of Jupiter, with what we have seen (Tyria, Elona, Cantha and everywhere inbetween) being just the size of North America.

There is a very good chance of more continents. But for GW2? Not initially I'd say.

It's a rather vague statement and you could be right, but really it could mean anything.

However, I doubt that they'd start GW2 with a new continent right away (though I'd LOVE to see Utopia!). I think I have to agree with Riceangel and say he was just refering to Cantha and when he originally went there to begin his studies.

The comment is applicable to what you're saying, but it's probably just a general 'end of the road' statement they tried to send Mehnlo out with more than anything, and not so much a spoiler for GW2.

Mhenlo wasnt talking about Cantha. He had already been there plus since he notes something about Elona the dialogue was added after Nightfall so it wasnt a hint to factions. It was probably Anets hint at Utopia before they decided on EotN and GW2.

New continents may be introduced much later into GW2.

Ignoring the poor spelling. He actually says that in Nightfall. He was already in Cantha and, storyline wise, Mhenlo was already in Cantha before Prophecies anyways. So your point is void in all ways, really.

Besides, in lore, Elona was always it's own continent and Cantha always existed. Mhenlo went to study at Shing Jea before post-searing events, as Factions takes place the same year of Prophecies lore-wise. Although I have nothing against new people in the lore community, and spelling isn't that big of an issue, please learn a little bit of the more obvious lore...

Anyways, I stick with what I said before, he's saying that as a realization of how big the world was.
